Three times a year, SIÈCLE Paris host a craftsman, artist, gallerist, decorator or vintage buyer, to discover in crossed portrait a personality, common with the SIÈCLE Paris spirit.
From April 18th to May 5th, 2019, SIÈCLE Paris hosts Danielle Quarante at 24 rue du Bac. From the spontaneous and unexpected meeting with one of the icons of the 70's, one no longer presents for example her Albatross armchair, were born 2 large plates in pair and carved as a mirror of flowers and branches by the artist herself.
In addition to the edition of these two plates, SIÈCLE presents as a collection of glazed ceramics, unique pieces of Danielle Quarante, vases, large dishes, bowls, etc., sculpted and signed by the artist, and cooked in our workshop .
All the creations of Danielle Quarante are presented on a table designed by the designer in 1977 for the University of Compiegne, and reissued on this occasion in blood red - other colors available.
BIO :
The artistic career of Danielle Quarante begins with the National School of Decorative Arts and since the 70s by the creation of avant-garde furniture exhibited several times at the Salon of Artists and Decorators at the Grand Palais of Paris.
Several of his models have been awarded (Society of Encouragement to Art and Industry), Bronze Medal, Prix Henri Mercier 1969, and some are currently part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts (MAD) and the National Museum of Modern Art Center Georges Pompidou.
Danielle Quarante created and directed a teaching of industrial design at the University of Technology of Compiègne in 1974 and published in 1984 and 2001 a book "Elements of industrial design".
A little later, she takes the name of Louise Bradley (name from a part of her family in England) and draws, leading us into a pictorial adventure.
For SIÈCLE, Danielle Quarante finds herself and gives us suggestive impressions, moments of memory, lyricism and emotions.
