Chromo technic

Published on Monday, January 1, 0001

Chromolithography was introduced in France around 1866. It is the color printing process for prints or illustrations.

Inspired by her own creations of cut-out paper applied to wood, Marisa Osorio Farinha has developed for SIÈCLE a technique for reproducing her decorations, in order to reproduce them in small quantities. The technique of applying chromo on wood remains laborious but largely simplified offering an alternative to real Decoupage.

Inaugurated at the end of the 90s, the technique on chromo and in particular the set of chinoiserie placemats remains today one of our favorite decorations.

Manufacturing has been carried out in-house in our workshop in Seine et Marne since 1998, ensuring a perfect finish.

These same chromo designs can also be heat laminated in a resistant plastic.

CARE

Maintenance is simple, clean with a sponge, and store preferably flat in a dry place, away from too direct light to avoid yellowing of the varnishes used in the long run. We regularly receive customers on rue du Bac who are still satisfied after many years of use, remember to have them restored with a coat of varnish every 5-7 years depending on your use.
