Gold and silver plated finish

The name silver plated is given to a silver metal by electrolysis, in more or less important weight (in microns, 10, 17 or 33).

Our silver metal for mouthware (table cutlery) is titrated to 33 microns.

This weight of silver authorizes the use of the "Poinçon Carré". Quality 1.

According to current French conventions for French goldsmith houses, silvering equal to or greater than 33 microns is guaranteed by the "square punch".

SIÈCLE uses different metals under the silvering, maillchort, brass or copper receive a silvering at 33 and 17 micron for the shaped parts.

The name gold plated is given to a metal gilded by electrolysis, with 24 carat gold, in more or less weight (flash less than one micron, 3 microns, and 5 microns - maximum weight). it is applied on a layer of silver.

The pewter alloys are silvered or gilded by flash electrolysis then patinated entirely by hand to limit the yellowing of the silver. The gold does not move.

The use of nickel is strictly prohibited in our silver or gold plating.

CARE

Protect the silver parts with a cloth or in its storage pouch between uses to preserve them from scratches and oxidation. If you do not use the object regularly, the silver may tarnish or yellow slightly. Clean with a cloth and/or with a common silverware cleaning product.
