The Jam Pot

This small container, made of glass, porcelain or earthenware, has the characteristic of having a lid with a notch for passing the handle of the serving spoon, usually long enough not to fall to the bottom. It is used to display the jam on the breakfast table. The jam had a great vogue in the XIX century 


when it then showed off a rare and sought meal and forms, from sumptuous metalwork of the XVIII, associate crystal and gilt, far from the use of today.
