Dinner by Candlelight

We know that the candles, always indispensable, illuminate around with a golden glow, enhancing the complexion and softening facial features, creating an intimate, romantic and elegant ambient, suitable for a dinner "en tête à tête".

The candelabra in the sumptuous allure were used in ceremonial receptions and placed on large tables. Today, they are rather used in ambient lighting of the dining room, their height and scale prohibiting any conversation around a table.

Candlesticks only hold a single candle, but have the advantage of creating a lovely atmosphere on a table while taking up little space.

The lanterns, which are used to protect the candle in the wind outside, have nothing to do on or around a table but the evening near a wood fire.. By cons, floating candles that arise in water-filled bowls with or without flowers, diffuse their reflections in water, soft light, very romantic. Remember also to place them in pretty glasses you will fill the bottom with a little bit of water. Be careful not to choose too fragile glasses that could slam under the effect of heat. Do not exclude too fast either the metal bracket that also reflect beautifully light.

The classic cylindrical candle is always very elegant and very commun on chandeliers and ancient or contemporary candlesticks. Traditionally white or cream, candles also exist in a wide range of colors, which will match the table or the dishes that adorn the table.

The only candles to avoided imperatively on your table are the scented candles. Their odor interferes with the food and the wine served at the table. Anyway, always choose good quality candles that do not melt too fast and do not drip on the table.
